I’m a recovering Type A Event Planner, turned wellness enthusiast. After years of suffering with undiagnosed digestive issues, bad skin and infertility, I felt repeatedly failed by the Western medicine model so I took matters into my own hands.  I read any integrative medicine journal I could get my hands on, tapped into acupuncture and nutrition and discovered that every part of my body and mind were connected.  In my case, it all came back to gut health.

I became so passionate about holistic health and nutrition for women and children that I decided to go back to school – all while being a stay-at-home mom to a 3-year-old and a nursing 8-month-old.  Did I mention I’m also a little crazy?  I was in a pretty exhausted and depleted state when I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, but I’m so glad I did because it fueled my fire and it provided something for me that wasn’t about my children’s schedule or bowel movements (‘cause that’s a thing).  Being a mom is by far the best job I’ve ever had, but it’s also been the hardest.  By only focusing on my family’s needs, I lost myself – not only my desires and goals, but the person I was.  I became strung out from not nourishing my body and mind and I was no longer the mama, spouse or friend that I wanted to be.  I fought my way back through self-care and personalized nutrition.  I had to work through the stories that I subconsciously told myself.  It’s an ongoing process, but I now have the tools to help myself (and you!)  thrive!
